Twas the night before Christmas

Have a listen to Clement Clarke Moore's famous poem ' A visit from St Nicholas', written 190 years ago in 1822. Most people know it as 'The night before Christmas' and lots of families read it together on Christmas Eve -  have you read it yourself?

Ella gets inspired!

Ella Iles in Year 5 was so inspired by working with Terry Caffrey that she went straight home and wrote these fabulous poems. Nice work Ella! If you like Ella's poems, why not leave her a comment and tell her!

Poem:
I wish to grow tall like the mountains. I wish to be fast like a cheetahs run. I wish to make new friends. I wish to have more pets. I wish to have fun!!!!!!!!

Poem:
Green yellow and blue that's what matches you. Purple pink makes me think of how our friendship will always be!!!!!

Poem:
The Olympics can be a hard time but when i think of it I think of the sour lime in my mouth add a little sugar and it is as sweet as you!!!

Poem:
The sea shells remind of the sea the sailing bouts remind me of the sea the weeds remind me of the sea but you know what DOES remind me of the sea you. You make my heart glow you make the waves speak you make me smile!! :)

Poem:
Trees are whispering in my ear. Birds are singing as loud as they can. The river flows gently the leaves are falling off the trees. Smoke filling the air, fires burning up trees falling down birds stop singing and fly away leaves not to fall again. Rivers become loud pollution filling the clear water.
Can you guess what it is?? If you don't help our planet smiles fade away......:(
Poem:
Skipping skipping skip hear the rope jingle as I jump through to another world. Butterfly's fly and deers jump when I go back to my world I want to see the same!!!!!

The teachers get creative!

All of your class teachers were set a challenge in their last meeting - they had ten minutes to make a Plasticine model of a scene or character from a book extract they were given. They then had to add on adjectives, nouns and any other descriptive language that they thought was important. Mr Richard picked the winners - well done to the teachers in Year 4, we hope you enjoyed the KitKats!

The books were:

The Twits
The Hobbit
Lemony Snicket
The Secret Garden
The Secret Life Of Henry Sweet
Harry Potter

Can you guess which pictures went with which story?
